Two grades, two buyers
Milkfish leaves Indonesia for two quite different uses. Bait grade goes to commercial longline fleets, where what matters is size uniformity, firmness and a price that survives being used as bait. Food grade goes to retail and processing, where belly condition and appearance decide the sale. Mixing the two in one container is a false economy and we grade them separately.
Supply and consistency
Indonesian milkfish comes largely from brackish-water pond production in Java, Sulawesi and Sumatra, which makes volume and size consistency better than most wild species — a real advantage for fleets that need the same specification month after month. Harvest scheduling is coordinated so a standing order does not drift in size.
Cold chain and documents
Frozen and held at −20°C to −35°C, loaded into a pre-cooled reefer with the load filmed end to end. Each shipment carries a BKIPM health certificate, certificate of origin and factory HACCP documentation, with Chanos chanos declared consistently across certificate, carton and invoice.
Terms and packing
Ex Works, FOB, CFR, CIF and CNF to any major port. Bulk block for bait programmes, master carton for food grade, glaze percentage declared and weight-verified.
Frequently asked
Do you supply bait-grade milkfish for longline fleets?
Yes. Bait grade is graded separately from food grade, on size uniformity and firmness, for commercial longline programmes.
Is milkfish the same as bandeng?
Yes. Chanos chanos is known as milkfish internationally and bandeng in Indonesia.
How consistent is supply?
Milkfish is largely pond-produced in Java, Sulawesi and Sumatra, so size and volume consistency is better than most wild-caught species.
Which incoterms do you quote?
Ex Works, FOB, CFR, CIF and CNF to any major port.
